LATEST: 3,598 civil servants face dismissal in federal government crackdown on face appointment.

These employees now have from Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025, to appear for a re-verification or face immediate dismissal. The FCSC stated that failure to comply will be considered proof of holding a fake appointment letter.
Officers must present both original and photocopies of crucial documents, including their appointment and promotion letters, gazette of appointment, staff change letter, and their July 2025 IPPIS payslip.
The FCSC emphasized that no further extensions will be granted, and this is the final opportunity for the affected workers to prove the authenticity of their employment.
This move is part of a broader government effort to combat corruption and weed out ghost workers from the federal payroll.
The commission has made it clear that those who do not show up are presumed to be deliberately avoiding detection..
